In class on Wednesday, we watched a movie containing a motivational speaker who showed the benefits of working for some companies. I learned from the film that we have the choice to work in any conditions. There are many options available for any career choice, you just have to look. People do not have to settle for a mediocre everyday job, there are plenty of jobs that will work with you to give you the choices you would like to persue. I liked how some of the companies don't call their employees employees, instead they call them member of their team. This also gives the members a sense of belonging to the team. It boosts their self esteem and makes them happy to work for the company. Other companies allow the managers of each department do the hiring and firing of their employees. This way the managers can pick people that are compatible with the existing employees and eliminate the problem people without going to their boss. I feel that you would get the best group of people by having someone who works in that department hire the employees. They will be more compatible and willing to work together as a team. Overall, I felt that the movie was a good way of showing us that there are many different options out there and we need to decide what we each want in our search for a career.
