The secrets to leading others... Where do you begin? Our professor has outlined five easy steps to lead others. They are as follows:
1. Tell them what you expect.
2. Make it doable.
3. Reward them.
4. Give them feedback.
5. When they are done, reward them again.
I think that these could be the main five steps to lead others, but there is also a lot more that goes into it. I feel that by doing these steps the followers will be more willing to help you out as a leader and be more motivated. Every leader wants followers, right? So why not have followers that are happy to be working with you. I definately want my followers to be happy and to have fun in whatever task they are working on. I think that work needs to be fun and unless your employees feel like they are having fun, they probably won't be with you for very long. I always want to have fun at work. If it's not fun, then you are wasting your life. Most people spend half of their lives working, so why not enjoy it! By following these secrets to leading others, I feel that you are encouraging your followers to be happy and to have fun. The reward doesn't need to be big. A small "Thank You" would be sufficient enough to let the follower know that they are on the right track and that they are appriciated. I definately want to know if I am doing something wrong, and so do your followers.
